FAQs

How does this work?

Our process is super easy and convenient for when you’re leaving the bubble and want your plants to stay healthy (and alive!!) while you’re gone. Find your plant type in our order section, and add as many plants as you need watched to your cart.

Once you add your plant to the cart, you’ll be asked to submit which days you can pick-up and drop-off your plants. After you submit the order, we’ll be in touch with a good time to meet at the Union for drop-off! We’ll even keep you updated on the status of your plants’ health from week to week so you can rest assured they are in good hands. All pick-up and drop-off must be at the Union unless you have purchased the pick-up/drop-off shipping option.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is determined by the level of maintenance that your plant requires. Lower maintenance plants cost less since they require less care, and higher maintenance plants such as bonsai trees require more since they need much more care!

** When adding your plant to the cart, please ensure that you have classified your plant correctly, according to the above guidelines. If your plant is classified as the wrong level of maintenance and doesn’t survive (due to under/over-watering), we do not assume responsibility.

Who is taking care of my plants?

We will match your plant up to someone who has agreed to plant-sit for your type & size of plant, and they will take care of it for you while you’re gone! Additionally, we will take a photo of the plant’s condition upon pickup and before the plant’s return for reference.

How is my plant transplanted? 😉

Once we find your plant-sitting match, we will coordinate a time and you will need you to drop off your plant at the Union. We will then hand off your plant to your matched plant-sitter! Same goes for return, the plant-sitter will return the plant to us, and you will pick it up from the Union!

If you have purchased the pick-up/drop-off shipping option then your plant-sitter will meet you at the address you provide and pick up and/or drop off your plants.

What happens if my plant dies?

We hope that this will never be the case, but we offer our deepest apologies if your plant dies when it’s being taken care of. If your plant was in healthy condition before the plant-sitting, and upon pick-up the plant is dead, we will offer you a partial refund.* Like we said, we hope this never happens!

Why won’t you pick up my plant if it’s in poor condition?

We would love to take care of all your plants, but if they are in poor condition we can’t guarantee that they will survive the break and this creates a problem for our plant-sitters. Additionally, we wouldn’t want to make you pay for plant-sitting only to come back to a dead plant after break, so unfortunately we can’t pick up plants that are in poor condition.

What happens at pick-up?

At pick-up, our plant-sitter will either meet you at the Union or at the address you’ve provided to collect your plants. Our plant-sitters will not pick up additional plants, only the plants you’ve ordered for plant-sitting. Please ensure you have ordered the correct number of plants so that they can be properly taken care of over break. If you have additional plants not in your order, we will refuse them.

*Any concerns/refund requests must be made immediately at pick-up. If any refund requests are not made at pick-up, you waive your right to receive a refund as we assume you are happy with the condition of your plant.
